6 Months Later...

So it has been a very long time since my last post, and I apologize. Things have been a little hectic from moving to 3 different states, to actually holding a job, to living back and with the in-laws.

I tried a tele-marketing job for some much needed income, and I hated it! Oh ow I wish I could really make this work at home thing work!

So I am back into this and am really going to make an good effort at it. And the cool part about coming back? MOIS updated EVERYTHING! They seem to keep everything fresh and new so that you have the best possible shot at making this work(at least I hope they do!).

Unfortunately, my Squidoo account was frozen, for whatever reason, and I have to re-do all my lenses. I will be working on that and my eZine articles this week.

And for anyone who does not know this, but you can get MOIS at a cheaper rate. When you go to close the window or tab that you open this site in, it will give a deeply discounted rate to purchase the course.

Traffic increase!

I am quite pleased with the amount of traffic I was able to generate using MOIS. I did not know a singe thing about generating web traffic. After using some of the techniques I learned in the "My Online Income System" course, I see at least 10 new visits to each of my web pages. Before, I would only get one hit a month.

I guess the forums and the article writing has paid off, but I have not come close to beginning! I love how the potential is limitless and all the ideas found in MOIS. I even love the fact that you do not have to promote the products that they suggest at first. This system works with pretty much anything you can think of! Just plug in what interests you and that's it!

Well, I have at least one Squidoo lens that needs tweeked and an article that I have been trying to write all day. I love how creative I can be with this! I would most certainly reccomend this to anyone, it's that simple and awesome!

Still no success, but...

I have not had much success at this whole affiliate marketing thing, but I can honestly say I put in a good 2 and a half decent weeks since I began this well over a month ago. I have had many distractions and other issues arise, so I have not been completely and entirely faithful to my work.

I still have, however, hope. The friend I have who does this said it took months, and from all the other people who are into this say the same thing. So I'm going to give it another solid month before looking for my first sale.

Using the techniques I have learned so far, I have noticed a major increase in visits to my websites. It's not a huge number, but it most certainly more than if I never had implemented these little secrets.

Bummer! No sale.....

I spent the better part of the past few days in forums looking for advice and help. I am even more overwhelmed that I was when I first began the course. My advice is this: Stick to one topic at a time! I've been trying to read everything all at once, but there are far too many posts and subjects in the 4 or 5 forums I have just joined. I try and read one topic, and end up in another not even closely to related to what I want help with. Stick with one topic at a time! If you don't, you will miss some important info! Of which I am doing already...oops!

I even asked others what they thought of GDI, and now I am not so sure I should be using them. Maybe I'll stick it out until I learn more or find something better. I'll try and share the links here when I do.

I did not make any sales yet, but this is partially to my family. Hubby hurt his back, so I have been doing his share of the work this past week, and I think my son got bit by the cranky bug. When did this all start? Any advice to sooth a miserable 1-year old would be appreciated! In fact, I WELCOME babysitters!

The family lands at 3:30 tomorrow, and will be here a week, so I doubt I will be able to spend much time "working" and won't have anything to post here. I am bummed I did not meet my goal for the past couple of weeks, but I did accomplish lots more.

Educate yourself!

I have to admit, there is NO way I would have been able to become an affiliate marketer without this course. I did try once, and since I was clueless, I quit. But after doing the My Online Income System program, things make more sense and I and much more able to do this!

I feel that education is key here, and it's not like you can go onto a college campus and take a course as specific as this. I know there are marketing classes, but I feel they would be too general, and cost lots of money.

Here are the top 3 internet marketing courses that you can get. There are many others, but these are the best of the best. I feel that MOIS is the better(that's why I decided to use it!), but the other 2 seem to be pretty decent, and from what I have been reading, the information differs slightly. Some just focus more on certain marketing techniques.

Anyways, I made it through half the course and have lots of work to do!!! I'll keep everyone posted!

Day 20

I managed to somehow read about 3-4 eBooks, build my first lens(please check it out!) with Squidoo, and take care of the hubby and baby, all at the same time(sort of). Maybe I'm perfecting my time management skills? HA! More like I am staying up late at night...

Today was probably the most work I have done, but I am proud and excited! I am really starting to believe that this program is onto something. I just hope it works, because I have put forth a lot of time a effort this far, and I could have been doing other things. But time is money, right?

The eBooks that I was "instructed" to read contained even more information than the entire course so far. The books went into further detail about articel writing, finding the perfect keywords, and using blogs to make money. I'm pretty fortunate that I am a few steps ahead, because I tried to do something similar before, only with out any guidance. Definitely glad this program came my way! It's making what I gave up on before, easier, and quite possible!

One thing that scared me was trying to organize everything and digesting it. Just after I told my husband about all the info and my inability to process is, there is a part of the course that deals with it, and just in time! It also keeps you organized for the rest of the journey- you just have to do what Ms. Hoffman tells you to do, and you're fine.

Again, it's late and my two favorite people will be up at 6:30 AM, yay! Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there, especially to my hubby(this is his very first!)!

A Few More "Days" Later...

Okay, so I was able to go through a few more days, and have now just completed Day 12 of "My Online Income System." So far, I have to say I am impressed. My first impression before I decided to purchase it, was, must be a scam! But then the friend of mine convinced me otherwise. And I am glad I did! I learned so much in the past few lessons, that I am sure I would be clueless even if I spent an entire month looking up the information on my own!

I was asked to sign up for a website, either the free or not-free one, and am now being asked to sign up for an auto-responder. The responder requires me to pay a monthly fee, and I think I will look into other services to use. Not really sure I want to be spending $20 a month, not knowing where this whole ordeal will lead me.

But back to that website. The one they suggest, is free, but you can not modify and are stuck promoting the 3 products that they have already chosen. But since I am a little more versed in the world of website building, I am going to my GDI(Global Domains International) website that I signed up for a while ago in hopes to make money promoting their products.

Well, since that fell through, I am going to use the site I have from GDI, instead of the one "My Online Income System" suggests. The only reason I kept the website is because GDI offered a lot for only $10 a month. I get a website with the domain name of my choice(if available), hosting, parking, 10 emails accounts, site builders, templates, domain forwarding, name servers, and I think there are some other things I may be missing. And even if you can't make a website, they make it totally easy to do.

When I signed up I watched a goofy little video much like the one on here. Don't bother watching it if you just want to see what GDI has to offer. I would just skip to the sign-up/more info area. And then when you get there, you will see at the bottom of sign-up form, where you can choose what you are interested in. They then taylor your account homepage to suit you. Mine has all the affiliate stuff on it, where someone who just wants the products and not promote, may not have all the sales info I see. It's not a bad service, and you have a better chance getting the domain you want with them. Oh, by the way... .ws stands for website! It took me a long time to figure it out! And I think it is even stated on GDI's site! Total blonde moment!
